Inside the Secret Desires of Professional Personal Representatives and Trust Officers

John Gardner, GSS

John has worked at GSS since 2015. As a Senior Manager, John leads GSS’s Financial Managers, Property Managers and Care Managers in making fiduciary decisions in complex and difficult situations. John specializes in supervising trust and probate estate administration, along with financial and care management for GSS’s durable power of attorney, guardianship, and conservatorship clients.

Christine Benson, Washington Trust Bank

Christine is a Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager for Washington Trust Bank’s Wealth Management & Advisory Services, working with clients in Western Washington. With nearly 25 years of experience, Christine enjoys working with individuals, families, and nonprofit organizations to provide highly personalized wealth management, as well as trust and estate administration services, to implement and achieve financial goals based on their unique circumstances.

Sharon Perlin, Whittier Trust

Sharon is a Senior Vice President and Client Advisor in
Whittier Trust’s Seattle and Portland offices. Sharon works
closely with clients to understand their priorities, goals and
philosophy with respect to stewardship of their wealth, as
well as their personal circumstances and family situations.
Her goal is to maintain and nurture the human element of
wealth management. Sharon’s advice around planning
always reflects clients’ articulated values, with an eye on tax
mitigation.
Sharon served for five years as a Senior Fiduciary Advisor for
Wells Fargo Private Bank, and one year as a Trust officer for
Bank of America Private Wealth Management. Prior to
joining the wealth management world, Sharon practiced law
as a trust and estate attorney in Seattle, WA. Law was a
second career for Sharon. Before moving to Seattle, Sharon
worked for the Foreign Service, training foreign service and
military personnel who were serving in US embassies in the
Middle East.
Sharon obtained her law degree at the University of
Washington School of Law, and her undergraduate degree
at the University of Pennsylvania. She is married to her high
school sweetheart and has three children. She loves camping,
hiking, and reading good novels.
